Train-the-Trainer Workshop Series

In early 2026, ULTFARMS hosted a Train-the-Trainer workshop in Delft, bringing together partners from Associated Regions to explore how Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) can support low-trophic aquaculture in offshore wind farms.

The four-part video series, featuring experts from Deltares, combines lectures, hands-on training, and interactive demonstrations to translate MSP concepts into practice. It begins with an introduction and lecture on the EU MSP Directive in the context of low-trophic aquaculture in offshore wind farms, presented by Bas Bolman, followed by a hands-on GIS workshop for MSP led by Nathalie Dees.

The series continues with a presentation on the Greater North Sea Basin Initiative (GNSBI) and an interactive visit to the Deltares ID-Lab with Sharon Tatman, and concludes with a guided walkthrough of interactive GIS exercises, again led by Nathalie Dees.

Together, the sessions blend expert insight with practical application to strengthen skills in spatial planning.
