ULTFARMS, UNITED’s sister project, will attend the FLORES meeting at WindEurope Conference in Copenhagen on April 26th and 27th, along with UNITED, to facilitate knowledge exchange and enhance cooperation between the offshore wind energy and aquaculture sectors. The event aims to promote the skilling process for new jobs and improve up-skilling opportunities for the current workforce in the offshore renewable energies (ORE) industry.

The WindEurope Conference is a significant event in the wind energy industry, gathering experts, policymakers, and academia to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the sector. The participation of ULTFARMS in these events will provide an excellent opportunity to crosscheck a multiuse knowledge transfer and implementation of the application of ocean multi-use, and to promote the project’s achievements in enhancing the technology readiness levels of multi-use solutions and promoting the viability of sustainable, low-carbon, and safe low trophic aquaculture products.

5th Baltic MSP Forum – Session 9: Effective Use of Space for a Sustainable Blue Economy

Session 9: Effective Use of Space for a Sustainable Blue Economy: Baltic Approaches to Multi-Use in Marine and Coastal Areas With growing spatial demands from offshore energy, marine nature protection, and maritime security sectors, clearly defined solutions to enable their co-existence through exclusive or multi-use option in sea space are needed. Cross-sectoral coordination – both at sea and along the coast – is fundamental; for example, ports and coastal communities may find new opportunities through integrated land-sea planning for multi-use.
