Aquaculture Europe 2025

The Aquaculture Europe 2025 conference centers around the theme “Aquaculture for everyone,” emphasizing inclusivity and sustainability. It aims to align aquaculture development with environmental integrity, support primary sector regeneration, boost economic value chains, and foster lifelong learning across administrations and communities in Europe.

  • Eva Strothotte will present on: “Tested Offshore Nature Inclusive Design as a Nature Restoration Measure Based on a Filter Application Concept Showcasing the Potential Valorisation of Existing and Planned Offshore Infrastructure”
  • Tim Staufenberger will present on: Offshore Growth Data
  • Jakob Becker will present on: PHIAMPP (an in-house developed, image-based analysis pipeline to automatically measure various algae parameters relevant for science and industry applications)

Dr. Elisabetta Giuffra (INRAE)
Topic: “Leveraging the value of functional genome annotations and refined phenotypes.” She’ll present the latest European initiatives improving genotype-to-phenotype research across domesticated species

Joan Riera (Kantar Worldpanel)
Talk: “What’s happening with seafood consumption?”— analyzes declining seafood consumption trends across Europe, with insights into how Spain remains a notable outlier

At MSP Week 2026, ULTFARMS will host a dedicated session on how Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) can accelerate the transition of ocean multi-use from pilot projects to large-scale implementation.
