New Baltic Sea Exhibition on Multi-Use and Algae Innovation Now Open at the Baltic Sea Information Centre!

We are thrilled to announce that our latest exhibition is now live at the Baltic Sea Information Centre (Ostsee Info-Center) in Eckernförde, Germany — a beautiful coastal town directly on the beach, popular among tourists and locals alike. Since Tuesday this week, the centre is hosting an exciting, immersive experience that brings to life the potential of multi-use (MU) and low-trophic aquaculture (LTA) in offshore wind farm (OWF) environments.

💡 What Can You Discover at the Exhibition?

This 3.5-meter-long interactive installation is packed with engaging, educational, and hands-on content developed from our research project. Whether you’re a curious tourist, a student, or a local resident interested in sustainability and ocean innovation, there’s something for everyone:

  • 🎥 An 11-minute video explaining the benefits and implementation of MU/LTA in OWFs
  • 🎮 An interactive game for all ages to explore mussel farming
  • 📘 Informative flyers about both the Baltic and North Sea MU initiatives
  • 🧪 Explanatory equipment and a scale model showcasing our research platforms and cultivation systems

👩‍🎨 Collaboration with Bio-Designer Bea Brücker

We are especially proud to highlight our cooperation with the visionary bio-designer Bea Brücker, whose innovative work in sustainable macro-algae leather is featured in the exhibition. Parts of her Morphogenesis series are included, which reimagines fashion and materials using sustainable resources, is a perfect match with our vision for a regenerative and circular Blue Economy.

🏖️ A Perfect Setting for Citizen Engagement

The Baltic Sea Information Centre is an ideal location for this exhibit — easily accessible, situated right on the beach, and nestled within a vibrant seaside town. We hope this setting will spark meaningful interactions with local visitors, tourists, and citizen scientists, and raise awareness of sustainable ocean practices in the Baltic region and beyond.

Come by, get inspired, and learn how the future of our seas can be sustainable, innovative, and collaborative.
